"EU asks for Turkey 's signature on Ankara Protocol

The Turkey-European Union Partnership Council, the highest-ranking decision organ between the European Union and Turkey , will convene on Tuesday in Luxembourg , the current EU term president. The council is expected to ask for Turkey 's signature on the Ankara Protocol which would extend the Customs Union agreement to 10 new EU member states.
On Friday, members agreed on a revised version of the Adaptation Protocol draft urging action on both sides. While the document rejects the requests of the Greek Cypriots, it draws attention to the importance of Turkey signing and putting into force the Ankara Protocol. "
