Austria has denied setting a deadline for Turkey to recognize the Greek Cypriot government.
News agencies Austria Press Agency (APA) and Agence France-Presse (AFP), quoted in the Thursday edition of the Turkish Daily News, had reported that Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, whose country currently holds the European Union's rotating six-month presidency, said on Tuesday that Ankara has �until the end of 2006� to recognize Greek Cyprus."
