The timing of the opening of Istanbul Modern Art Museum just over a year ago was no accident, but it was a surprise to Rosa Martínez, its curator.
'We were originally planning on February 2005,' says Martínez. 'But then came the news that the prime minister wanted it to open earlier.'"
