"Number Of Tourists Visiting Turkey Down 4.7 Percent In January
ANKARA - The number of foreign tourists (667,337) visiting Turkey is down 4.7 percent on a year-on-year basis in January, it was reported on Tuesday.
The Turkey Statistics Board (TUIK) released today the number of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey. The number which was 700,469 in January 2005, went down to 667,337 in January this year.
Among the visiting foreigners Germans were ranked first with 19 percent of the total number. Bulgarians followed Germans with 15.7 percent, while Russians and Iranians came third with 4.6 percent, both. People from Azerbaijan (3.6 percent), Georgia (3.5 percent), France (3 percent), Britain and Greece (2.9 percent), and the Netherlands (2.8 percent) also visited Turkey last month."
