"Turkey Lebanon role could mend fences with EU
The Turkish parliament's decision - due today - on whether or not to send soldiers to Lebanon could play a role in fostering better relations between Ankara and Brussels in the country's EU entry bid, Le Figaro reports.
But Turkish Islamic nationalists, as well as trade unionists and far-left movements do not want to confront Hizbullah and prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has promised to quit Lebanon if asked to disarm the militant group."
