Number of companies, branches and subsidiaries in Turkey with foreign capital reached 13,599 as of end of July. The companies with foreign capital mostly display activity in wholesale and retail commercial sector.
According to the Treasury Undersecretariat data, in the first seven-month period of this year, 205 of 1,904 firms with foreign capital established in January, 228 in February, 324 in March, 288 in April, 311 in May, 312 in June and 236 in July. 1,495 of these firms in the period in question were newly established, while 376 of them were subsidiaries and 33 were the branches of foreign companies."
