Ankara, 3 September - While Italian news media are reporting with pride every move of the first Italian contingent as it reaches the Lebanese coast and begins sniffing Lebanese air, moving towards its first, temporary quarters at Naqoura, heavy pangs are tormenting the German and Turkish governments: in fact, while Lebanese parliamentarians are staging an open-end protest sit-in against the ongoing Israeli siege of Lebanese sea and airways, the German government decided to put on hold its decision to deploy a military maritime force accompanied by fighter airplanes to monitor the Lebanese seaways."
