According to a report on 2005's mergers and acquisitions prepared by the Ernst and Young Finance Group, Turkey has reached its highest point in both number and amount of business transactions, putting the year's total revenue from M&A at $31 billion. The year's largest acquisition was the purchase of Turk Telekom, which sold for $6.5 billion last fall."
