Ashgabat, 31 January 2006 (nCa) --- Ambassadors of Turkey and the United States had a meeting Monday with President Niyazov. The core issue of the talks was energy cooperation. The meeting was important in many ways and could possibly be the starting point of a new phase in energy diplomacy.
President Niyazov listened to the points of view of Ambassador Hakki Akil of Turkey and Ambassador Tracey Jacobson of the United States. He assured that Turkmenistan remains committed to the strategic dimension of energy cooperation."
