Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief Rodrigo De Rato in the Swiss town of Davos, where there is currently a series of meetings for the World Economic Forum.

Erdogan had a 30-minute talk with De Rato at the Belvedere Hotel, ending with a statement by the IMF's chief saying the Turkish economy has been doing relatively well over the past couple of years. The accumulated arrears of Turkey were making up 90 percent of the gross national revenues in 2001, but they have been reduced to around 50 percent nowadays."
