The Salem Fair offers fun for residents, but it's also a cultural exchange for foreign students.

From Erdim Koc's spot manning the Euro Bungy ride, America is loud -- Nickelback blaring on the sound system.
America is fast -- the Fire Ball ride spinning upside down, pink half-shells of the Tilt-A-Whirl twirling in a blur of motion.
America is big -- oversized SpongeBobs and Care Bears hanging from game booths. And America is deep-fried -- dotted with corn dog booths and funnel cake.
"I just want to discover America," the 22-year-old exchange student from Turkey explained."
