Although South Korea failed to make it to the round of 16 at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Koreans could find comfort from their brother country, Turkey. The Turkish people showed enthusiastic support for the Korean squad.
This was so natural, given the bilateral relations, the top Turkish envoy said."
