"'Clash of Civilisations' man tells Turkey to shun EU

ANKARA (Reuters) - The author of 'The Clash of Civilisations', the best-seller which predicts conflict between the West and the Islamic world, urged Turkey on Tuesday to turn its back on Europe and look to its Muslim neighbours.
Speaking on CNN Turk during a visit to Istanbul, a city which physically bridges Europe and Asia, Samuel Huntington said Turkey's bid to join the European Union was doomed to fail.
'I think that Turkey will not enter the EU because the Europeans don't want Turkey. Therefore, they'll do everything they can in order to keep Turkey out of the EU,' said Huntington, an American professor."
