TURKEY shrugged off France�s rejection of the European Union constitution yesterday as largely irrelevant to its membership cause, even though Ankara�s controversial candidacy was a factor in the �no� vote.
The vote was even welcomed by some, who feared that a constitution would impose additional and onerous conditions on Turkey�s accession. "
