I have lived in Istanbul for 45 years and have been watching football. Yesterday, both gave me the most satisfaction. I can say without any hesitation, that our greatest joy was yesterday's magnificent event, reminiscent of Galatasaray clinching the UEFA Cup in [2000] and Turkey finishing third in the [2002] World Cup.
First of all, I would like to say a thousand thanks to Senes Erzik; because had it not been for his efforts, we, for many years to come, would only have been able to witness such a final in our dreams. On this issue, the service rendered by Erzik is so great that he should be awared the highest honor for his service to his country. "
