Just think about this logic and the mind-set that underlies it. Kurdish rebels are striking across the border into Turkey, an ally and a secular Muslim country. The PKK is not only killing Turks but seeks to slice out a portion of the country for itself. But the U.S. doesn't want the Turks to go after them, cross the border into Iraq, ostensibly because it would 'destabilize' the region. We never seem to take into account any national interest other than our own. - Richard de Uriarte, editorial writer"
