"Turks protest ahead of Lebanon deployment vote

ANKARA, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Turkish unions and professional groups protested on Monday against a government decision to contribute troops to a U.N. force in Lebanon ahead of expected approval of the deployment in parliament on Tuesday.
Government enthusiasm for the move is seen reflecting a bid to raise the country's profile in the Middle East, but many Turks oppose contributing to a force which they believe will primarily serve U.S. and Israeli interests."
