PETER Costello says Ataturk's creation of a secular Muslim state in Turkey is a model that should be adopted by the modern Islamic world.
The Treasurer, in a speech to be delivered today to a Christian lobby conference in Canberra, will dismiss Islamic extremists' efforts to create caliphates bound by religious law."
