After the resolution to send troops to Lebanon was approved in the Assembly, the United Nations General Secretary Kofi Annan started making contacts in Ankara. Kofi Annan said seven thousand soldiers would come from Europe and with the soldiers from Turkey this number would increase to eight thousand."
