Ankara- German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Thursday promised that Germany would work together with Turkey to help it overcome obstacles in its bid to become a member of the European Union. Speaking with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul in Istanbul, Steinmeier also said he was very pleased that the Turkey had decided to send troops to Lebanon as part of a UN peacekeeping force. "
