For several months we have been warning our authorities that the Turkey's image is being seriously damaged because it's regarded as a country where the military still plays a dominating role. While our colleagues in the Turkish press were busy buttering up the newly promoted military leaders, we were pointing out that such prominence only strengthened the conviction abroad that the Turkish military continues to play a dominant role in running the country.
