After seven years of relative calm, starting from June of last year the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) gang -- and its contractors in some major cities of the country -- have started a campaign to demonstrate to its supporters that it has not died out; that it still has the ability to stage major and well-planned actions; and that it still possessed the support of the locals in southeastern parts of the country."
