TURKISH Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat yesterday issued a statement backing a protest in support of a demonstration in
Brussels by Turkish Cypriots from Cyprus and the UK over what they say is the EU’s failure to lift the economic isolation
on the north of the island.
“On Monday, we marked the second anniversary of the simultaneous referenda held on both sides of the island on a plan by United Nations Secretary-Ggeneral Kofi Annan aimed at finding a comprehensive settlement to the Cyprus problem,” said Talat said in his statement.
