The escalation started when Democratic Society Party (DTP) Co-Chair Ahmet Turk, speaking on a TV program known as 'Baskent Kulisi' that brings together Ankara representatives of three newspapers with a political figure, said he had tried many times to obtain a meeting with the interior minister. He asked, on the air, for a meeting with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan."
