Ambassador Oguz Demiralp, the head of the European Union Secretariat-General, briefed EU ambassadors on Friday, saying that Turkey will continue with reforms bringing important changes to military-civilian relations, human rights, freedom of religion and anti-corruption efforts.

The New Anatolian learned that Demiralp spoke of a new bill prepared by the Defense Ministry that will restrict the trial of civilians in military courts to only situations where civilians are charged alongside military personnel for crimes. The EU secretary general briefed ambassadors on plans to restructure the Human Rights Presidency, establishing a new unit to effectively fight corruption and regulate financial assistance to political parties."
