TURKEY: 'VIRTUAL' ADOPTION HELPS POOR KIDS
Istanbul, 2 May (AKI) - The 'Choose your sister or your brother' campaign kicked off just five months ago, but twenty-five thousand virtual siblings have already pledged their support. The brainchild of veteran journalist and photographer, Cengiz Tunay, the project aims to help Turkey's less fortunate children by using the internet to find young people who want to lend a hand. �At the beginning my target was to reach ten thousand volunteers [people who participate in the campaign] but after this great show of interest my new target is 75 thousand volunteers by the end of this year. Each month nearly 5 thousand new volunteers are participating in the campaign� he told Adnkronos International (AKI)."
