One of the first things I noticed in Istanbul was that in some quarters (for instance in Nişantaşı � posh residential and shopping district) there were no trash bins in the streets. Later I learnt that terrorists many times successfully used trash bins as detonation facilities targeting civilians in crowded streets. It was during the pre-suicide bombers epoch and removing trash bins was a security measure against terrorism. "
