(Murat Sogangoz/JTW/Ankara) Recent developments in European politics are not so promising for Turkey’s EU accession process. Borders of Europe and enlargement are intensely discussed in European policy quarters. Generally, the momentum of EU politics seems to be inclined in excluding Turkey from Europe. As the reflection of this reluctance of some EU leaders, the accession negotiations of Turkey have not started yet actually and Ankara may be due to new stricter criteria in the negotiations. Cyprus issue also is another issue that has a potential of making the EU-Turkey relations break down. "
