"EU asks Turks for violence inquiry
Turkish armed forces form part of the funeral procession for Murat Tutal, a soldier who died in clashes with Kurdish rebels near Sirnak in southeast Turkey.
The European Union urged Turkey to investigate Kurd-related violence that has left 16 people dead and hundreds injured over the past nine days. The EU said that Turkey must promote the rights of all its citizens as stipulated in a treaty under which its entry negotiations were launched."
