Ankara - When the Muslim holy month of Ramadan was about to begin just under a month ago, foreign tourists in the Mediterranean resort town of Side became somewhat nervous.
'Will they close the discos?' a German man asked a waiter at a restaurant. 'Of course,' the waiter joked. 'This is Turkey and during Ramadan no alcohol can be served'. "
