ANKARA (IHA)--The Turkish government will reduce value-added tax on Turkey's tourism sector, an important foreign exchange source, to stem the rapidly widening current account deficit, to 8% from the current 18%, in 2008, the official gazette said Wednesday.
The gazette said the government this year will reduce VAT on some food products, which have varying VAT rates. "
