In this latest period of the ruling Justice and Development (AKP) Party, a series of social projects have been signed into action by the government that it controls. Affordable housing that can be paid for in YTL 100 installments, free health care for children under the age of 18, a reworking of credit card payment laws, coal aid to 1,800,000 families, efforts at local investment in the east and Southeast in particular, tax (KDV) reductions for the education, health, medicine, food and textile industries, encouragement for potential investors in Anatolia, the covering up to a certain extent of the European Union business for the people on the street overwhelmed by the whole affair, and contrary to stressing the 'democracy' inherent in the latest terror incidents, the pronouncement of feelings on the whole affair. These back-to-back newly announced projects and efforts aimed at affecting people on the street in terms of economic and social factors bring to many people's minds the phrase 'early elections.' "
