"Turkish Embassy against sale of donated statue at bankrupt theme park
KASHIWAZAKI, Niigata -- The Turkish Embassy in Japan has sent a protest letter to the Kashiwazaki Municipal Government over the city's plans to sell off a bronze statue of Turkey's 'founding father' Kemal Ataturk that was donated to a Turkish theme park which went bankrupt, it has been learned.
The Kashiwazaki Municipal Government plans to sell the 5-meter-high bronze statue of Kemal Ataturk (1881-1938), the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic, to a tourist development firm in the prefecture."
