Grand Hilton Seoul Offers Taste of Istanbul - by Kim Tong-hyung
Seoul is becoming increasingly known for its breadth of international cuisine and one of the newest stars in the city's culinary scene seems to be Mediterranean food, a trend evidenced by Greek and Middle Eastern eateries sprouting in downtown areas.
So it must be natural that Turkish food, rightfully considered among the world's greatest cuisines for its rich tradition and diverse appeal, is slowly starting to gain popularity among local diners craving for clear flavors and greaseless textures of Mediterranean dishes. The Grand Hilton Seoul is holding a special Turkish food promotion through the end of the month at its Buffet Restaurant and Atrium Cafe. It offers a rare chance to enjoy traditional Turkish cuisine: A cuisine that has garnered universal appeal in Europe, North America and the Middle East. The "Taste of Turkey" event is jointly organized with the Turkish Airlines.
Burhan Yilmaz, resident chef at the Hilton Istanbul, is leading two of his Turkish colleagues in running the kitchens at the two restaurants, hoping to offer Korean guests authentic tastes from his home country.
