"Turkey: Parliament scraps tax plan on borrowing-officials
11:31 - 27 April 2006 - A Turkish parliamentary sub-commission scrapped on Thursday a controversial government plan to impose a 30 percent withholding tax on offshore borrowing, a member of the commission said. A draft law discussed in the sub-commission originally proposed taxing banks' offshore borrowings to track fund flows and increase tax revenues."
