You must have noticed that Turkey is no longer on the European Union's agenda. There are no discussions for or against Turkey, no more statements. Until a very short while ago, leaders of countries that did not wish to see Turkey join the EU as a full member used to bombard the public with arguments such as that Turkey wasn't really European and that Turkish workers would invade Europe. "
