"Turkish textile industry looks east to boost sector

ISTANBUL, Feb 29 (Reuters) - Turkey's textile industry is looking to develop beyond its Istanbul heartland to shore up its global market share in the face of growing competition from China, a leading sector official told Reuters.
Textiles are central to Turkey's exports, surging to some $16 billion in 2007 from less than $9 billion five years earlier."
