The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the multilateral bank for former communist countries, is considering launching operations in Turkey.
Extending its reach to the country could aid western efforts to build links with Turkey at a time when Ankara's bid for European Union membership faces some difficulty. The move could give the EBRD a new role as it pulls out of richer former communist economies and cut its risk of over-exposure to Russia."
