UNESCO Artist for World Peace and all-round virtuoso, Turkish born Omar Faruk Tekbilek is widely revered as the guru of new world and Sufi music. Master of the ney (bamboo flute), the double-reed oboe-like zurna, the baglama (long-necked lute) and numerous percussion instruments, Tekbilek - and his ensemble - weave traditional Arabesque and Turkish melodies with distinct traces of folk and flamenco to create sublime ambient soundscapes."
