Turkey's biggest and most exciting human development effort to date, the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP), has consumed YTL 19.5 billion, with a return investment ratio of 51 percent.
According to the Prime Ministry's GAP Administration report on the region the project, the purpose of which is to utilize the natural resources of the Southeast and improve welfare by eradicating regional income disparity, also contributes to national growth and social stability."
