Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday dismissed criticism from the opposition that his government was acting slowly in preparation for upcoming accession talks with the European Union.
�The EU (accession process) is one of the issues that are on the government's agenda all the time,� Erdogan told a meeting of his Justice and Development Party (AKP). �Turkey's EU membership is not a mere issue of foreign policy for us.�"
