"PM rules out compromise without T/C embargo lifted
16:03 - 12 April 2006 - Turkey's premier Wednesday ruled out any compromise on the divided island of Cyprus unless the isolation of Turkish Cypriots is lifted.
A self-declared Turkish Cypriot state is only recognized by Turkey. Some European and U.S. officials pledged to take steps towards easing the isolation of the Turkish side after Greek Cypriot voters in 2004 rejected a U.N.-backed plan that would have united the Greek and Turkish sides."
