German Federal Minister of Justice Brigitte Zypries warmly welcomed a proposal by Turkish officials to have talks about preventing �honor� killings, according to a German Federal Ministry spokesman.
Zypries is pleased with Turkish politicians' proposal to cooperate on the matter of honor killings -- which usually involves the murder of women by male relatives to defend what is regarded as family honor -- and told them she is open to talks on the issue, the spokesman was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency."
