ANKARA (AFP) — Turkey's Islamist-rooted ruling party led rivals by a large margin but appeared to lose some base support in local elections Sunday marked by deadly violence.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he was not satisfied with his Islamist-rooted party's showing in the polls though it was headed for certain victory."
