Turkey's non permanent membership to the United Nations Security Council became a diplomatic gain while the country is struggling with the global financial crisis and security problems on the northern Iraqi border. Prime Minister Erdoğan interpreted the result as �an opportunity to undertake a global role.� It is true that Turkey, applying for a membership in 2003, lobbied so much and even knocked on the doors of �genocide� leaders of Africa for five years. It did not actualize by saying �There is no friend of the Turk except the Turk!� "
