"Report: Turkish president says no plans to send combat troops to Afghanistan
ISTANBUL, Turkey: The Turkish president says his country is not planning to send any combat troops to join the NATO force in Afghanistan.
Turkey's Anatolia news agency quotes President Abdullah Gul as saying, "We don't intend to send combat troops." He made his comments Wednesday in Turkey before leaving for a NATO summit in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, Anatolia says."
