Kirkpinar is the oldest wrestling festival in the world and has a long and rich history which dates back to the early days of the Ottoman Empire.
When the Ottomans were residing in Anatolia, they began to make a push into Rumelia which culminated in a siege on the town of Edirne in 1361."
