NICOSIA, Cyprus: The Turkish Cypriot leader insisted Friday that — despite any visible progress — his breakaway state would dismantle a footbridge that has irked Greek Cypriots and blocked plans to relink war-divided Nicosia's commercial center.
Mehmet Ali Talat denied local media reports of a rift with Turkey's military over the planned demolition, which could impede the army's patrols in a sensitive area."
