"Major share for Turkey in EU's financial assistance

"EU will give nearly 11.5 billion Euro of financial assistance to EU candidate countries Turkey, Croatia and Macedonia in 2007-2013 period," Turkish Deputy SG for EU Tünay İnce told A.A on Saturday.
"Turkey will take 60-70 percent of this amount in this period," added İnce.
Recalling that Turkey, since 1999--the date its EU candidacy was accepted--, has started to take financial assistance from the EU, İnce said that EU gives this assistance to help candidate countries increase their social and economic level to EU standards as well as to soften responsibilities necessitated from adjustment studies."
