"A bad week for Turkey means a bad week for Cyprus

A ‘PRIVILEGED partnership’ for Turkey instead of full membership to the EU, would not be a positive development, either for Cyprus or for Greece, Brussels-based sources believe, as it would leave Ankara with benefits but without substantive obligations.
Such an outcome is also considered as very negative by the Turkish business people’s association (TUSIAD) and analysts.
The whole of Europe would be affected, but it would have a more negative impact on countries with a direct interest, like Cyprus, Greece and Turkey itself, the TUSIAD representative in Brussels Dr. Bahadir Kaleagasi told the Sunday Mail."
